Donald Glover is keeping busy, as usual. Glover is set to perform as Childish Gambino at the Grammys on January 28, and he’s got acting roles in the upcoming Solo: A Star Wars Story and Lion King. On top of that, the second season of Atlanta—called Atlanta Robbin’ Season—returns to FX on March 1.
On season two of Atlanta, Donald’s brother and writer on the show Stephen Glover explained to Billboard, “Our characters are going through insane, desperate transitions so Robbin’ Season is kind of a metaphor for all of our characters.” Donald Glover added, “We didn’t look back at season one for inspiration as much because I feel like if you do that as any sort of producer, you tend to be risk-averse, which I really think is bad for art. We didn’t look back and think, ‘What are the things that will make people happy?’ We really just tried to beat ourselves and always just kept trying to do something that was different from the first season.”
Glover’s thriving in his professional career, but he announced a big piece of personal news yesterday, Friday 5. He told ET that he recently welcomed his second child with girlfriend Michelle. “She’s great. She’s good. Baby’s born, so she’s happier now,” Glover said.
Having his first son, Legend, in 2016 didn’t slow down Glover, and it sounds like 2018 is going to be another eventful year.
