The fashion at the Golden Globes for 2018 was always going to feel different from any other of the past. For the first red carpet of this year, A-listers (both women and men) decided to wear black in solidarity of the Time’s Up initiative to combat sexual harassment and inequality in the workplace—not just within post-Weinstein era Hollywood. The message was played out, loud and clear and in jet black across the majority of the board: From Natalie Portman in a velvet black gown created by Dior to Angelina Jolie in inky ostrich feathers to Tracee Ellis Ross (the woman we’re most excited to watch this season) in satin Marc Jacobs.
