Karl Lagerfeld – one of the most prolific designers of our time, died in Paris from pancreatic cancer. He was 85 years old. What with great sorrow the fashion house Chanel reported, calling the designer “an extraordinary creative person.”
Lagerfeld had a legendary career spanning seven decades as a fashion designer and creative director. He simultaneously created a legacy in the house of Chanel, produced ready-made clothes for the famous Italian brand Fendi and created his own collection of the same name.
Karl began his career in Germany. Having achieved significant success in Balmain and Chloé, he headed Chanel in 1983. Then the fashion house suffered significant losses and no one believed that it would be afloat again, but Lagerfeld took it as a challenge. He noted that Koko herself would be shocked by his measures, but they were necessary to revive the former glory of Chanel.
