Recently, Kat Von D has launched a ton of shades in her studded kiss formula. The shades “Double Dare”, “Mother” and “Lolita II” are launched last year as a part of her holiday line and I picked up all the three. She has re-released these in her new studded kiss line. The shade that I will be reviewing today is Mother.

Designed by Kat to resemble one of her favorite bracelets, the black, monochromatic casing is uniquely studded and topped with her KVD monogram on the outer crown and bullet.
My Experience with Kat Von D Studded Kiss Creme Lipstick Mother:
Packaging: Packaging of kat Von D’s studded kiss lipstick is just amazing. It is feminine and chic at the same time. It seems like studs are embossed all over the tube. I like how her makeup line represents her strong personality. The only thing that I hate about the packaging is that the lipstick cap tends to open very easily and doesn’t feel secure enough. The KVD logo is engraved at the top of the cap and on the bullet too. The shade name is mentioned at the bottom of the tube. The limited edition tube has a metallic look to it.
Shade: “Mother” reminds me a lot of Flat Out Fabulous by MAC, but slightly muted. Mother can be described as muted pinky purple and this will flatter a variety of skin tones.
Texture: The lipstick has a rich soft texture and is very pigmented. The finish and texture of this lipstick reminds me a lot of Urban Decay’s mega matte finish. It does tug a little on the lips, but the pigmentation is amazing.
Fragrance: It has a strong vanilla scent which fades after the application. I didn’t notice any feathering with these lipsticks. These lipstick feels very lightweight on the lips. The finish of Mother is matte with slight sheen. If you have very dry lips, I won’t suggest this because, the formulation is a little bit on the drying side. But on my lips, it feels very comfortable.
Staying Power: The staying power is pretty good and these fades evenly. On my lips, these lasted for 7 hours without any touch-up.
