I first have to apologize if you guys are over seeing the process of our painted floors here on the blog this week, but it’s real life and what we are doing right now & you guys know that I love to be in the moment & authentic with you guys… & this is what we are doing right now. I blogged two days ago your FAQ’s about our painted floors [HERE] & today I really just wanted to come on here today & introduce you to the last room we have to paint the floors in [FOR NOW]. It’s the biggest room we have to do & the room with the most furniture in it so that is making it a little more complicated, but I think it’s going to be the biggest & most dramatic change of all the rooms once the floors are done….
Not so pretty at the moment, but here is some prettier progress in the sunroom….
& here is another view of this room before we tore it up to paint the floors…
Don’t be fooled by how light and bright the photos are.. super sunny day & brightened. The painted floors aren’t going to be the only change in the space. We also plan to do a little furniture re-arrangement to make the room flow better & function better for our family. That will also include an addition of a tv in this space because I know a lot of you always wonder about a our TV so I can’t wait to share with you what where we end up putting one. Anyways, I’ve said it before, but this room IS SO DARK! With only two tiny windows in the room [the front door is blocked by a half wall & there is another lead glass window across the room in the entryway, but that doesn’t do much either.] When we stained the floors, though we loved them, it made this room so much darker than it already was, so the newly painted floors is hopefully going to brighten this room & make us fall in love with it all over again. Here is a view from the painted dining room into the front entryway area that is attached to the front living room…
So for now here is where we are. Today I started to put the first coat of paint on the front living room & entryway floors & the front of the house is a complete mess, but my vision for it when the floors are finished is a beautiful bright room with lots of awesome cozy & airy space for us to relax in. Can’t wait to show my vision come to life. I’m a little scared to tackle this space just because I know the sweat and time that will go into this room, but I’m equally as excited for the final result. Thanks for putting up with our messy life for now & for enjoying the in-between with us in our fixer-upper. Also, thank you for the kind words and encouragement on this big project of ours with painting the floors… it means the world to us!! xx
